Why, hello.  I’m Jennifer Stagg.  You can call me Jen.

I am a storyteller.  It’s always just been a part of who I am.

For many years, I told stories on a TV screen as an award-winning anchor and reporter and I loved it very much.  I was a weekend warrior– working full time during the week, then flexing my creative muscles on my home and projects on my off time.  After having my little girl, Ruby, I found my priorities shifting.  I ached to be able to rock her to sleep each night rather than report on the day’s news at 10 o’clock.  And while I was on maternity leave, I realized just how dysfunctional my home was, and I set out to fix it.

After leaving my full time post in news, my brain wheels began working overtime with ideas and I fearlessly rolled up my sleeves and dove head first into every project I could get my hands on.  I started learning as much as I could—taking classes, reading, and learning by good ol’ fashioned trial and error.  I now walk into a space or spot a sad sofa and only see what it can become.  My husband, Jon, and I are now remodeling our third home together, a 1992 peach/mauve two story, room by room.  I’m passionate about creating a beautiful home that reflects who you are, how you want to live, and makes your life as comfortable as possible.

Wanna tackle your home but aren’t sure where to start?  That’s where I can help.  I show you what I’ve learned, interview industry pros, and I provide you with all-around inspiration through video and print tutorials.  I want to give you the courage and know-how to build a great space, whether you’re a novice or not.  I hope I can inspire you and make you feel like you can take on the world.  I find such satisfaction in figuring things out, in doing things myself, and in breathing new life into a room or piece of furniture.  You don’t need to spend a gazillion dollars to build a beautiful home.  You just need a little help to get you started.  You’ll be surprised how much you can do.

What I love to do most is make a room sentimental, special, functional, and beautiful.  I believe your home should be a place where you feel most like yourself—where you feel most comfortable, most inspired, and most at peace.  Bring in the sentimental.  Show a little quirk.  Forget the catalog and instead create a house that reflects your personal and unique style.  If it’s special to you, it should be a part of your home.  Create a house with soul.  Build a space with spirit.  Live in a home with HEART.

A little more about me…

I love to cook, and I really love to cook for others

Then I like to run marathons to work off aforementioned cooking.  I figure it cancels out the butter.

I drink hot chocolate like it’s water.  Year-round.

I’ve won two Emmy awards, three Edward R. Murrow Awards, and have been awarded best reporter in Utah by the Society of Professional Journalists twice.

I can bend my fingers backwards.  It’s weird.  If you meet me in person, I’ll be happy to demonstrate and gross you out.

I danced professionally in my younger days as an NBA Cheerleader.  Now my pom pom shaking is reserved for my 2-year-old’s eyes only.

People are my greatest inspiration.  I’ve been so blessed to share amazing stories of strength, determination, loss, and courage, and I draw from people’s life experiences in design.

Being a wife and mother are truly my greatest joys in life.

I love finding interesting and personal ways to display family heirlooms and sentimental items, making a room truly one-of-a-kind.

I offer a few services.  You can read more about them over in the contact section.
